Fly your Tiger Moth open-cockpit vintage biplane around the WW2 airfields of the 'Mighty Eighth', the American Eighth Air Force, who carried the daylight bombing campaign to Nazi Germany. These are the airfields where B25 Mitchell and B26 Marauder medium bombers paused for a few weeks on their way to the North African campaign and from where the famous B17 Flying Fortresses and B24 Liberator heavy bombers set off on their missions. Setting off from Yarmouth Heliport, your instructor will introduce you to the aeroplane's controls as you pass over the Rivers Bure and Yare en route to your first landmark at Hethel, the former home of Marauders, Liberators and Mustangs.

Flying the old biplane yourself, your instructor will navigate you around a route taking in the Deopham Green (B17s) with Old Buckenham (B24s) in sight as you approach Snetterton Heath (B17s). Next is Fersfield, from where Operation APHRODITE (Pilotless Bombers) was mounted in 1944/45 and from where RAF Mosquito bombers set off to attack Gestapo headquarters in Oslo, the famous Operation CARTHAGE.

Passing Tibenham (B24s), your next target is Hardwick (B24s) before heading to Bungay (B24s), where you'll see the excellent Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum from the air. Your final site is Seething (B24s) before returning to Yarmouth's grass runway, where your instructor can demonstrate a loop or a barrel roll before landing, if you'd like that.
Duration: One Hour, 15 minutes.
